Tales of Cape Cod will host the eleventh annual Mercy Otis Warren Women of the Year Award ceremony on June 10, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Old Colonial Courthouse, Route 6A, Barnstable.

The award is a marquette of the statue of Mercy Otis Warren which is located on lawn of the Barnstable County Courthouse. The award will be presented to an outstanding woman who meets the following criteria:

…is a resident of Cape Cod and has demonstrated leadership in the Cape Cod community and has made a significant contribution to any of the following: the arts, education, business, community involvement embracing the ideals of patriotism.

Brochures with details about this unique and prestigious award will be available at all Cape Cod town halls by March 15, 2013 with a nomination deadline of May 1, 2013. The brochure describes criteria for the award, the guidelines for nomination, and gives highlights of the life of Mercy Otis Warren.

The recipient of the award will be an honored participant in the Independence Day Parade in Barnstable Village.

Andrew Gottlieb, Executive Director, Cape Cod Water Protection Collaborative and Paul Niedzwiecki, Executive Director, Cape Cod Commission presented the County Commissioners with the final report on January 2, 2013.  To view the final recommendations click here

On October 17, 2012 Andrew Gottlieb, Executive Director of the Cape Cod Water Protection Collaborative and Paul Niedzwiecki, Executive Director of the Cape Cod Commission presented their quarterly report to the County Commissioners on “Optimizing County Resources and Policies in Wastewater Planning and Implementation“.
