...HEAVY RAIN MAY LEAD TO STREET FLOODING THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING...
A period of widespread rain with embedded downpours will impact
southern New England this afternoon and evening. This may lead to
localized street flooding, particularly during the evening
commute. Keep this in mind if you will be traveling this evening
and avoid driving through flooded roads.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 1 AM
EST TUESDAY...
* WHAT...South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts between 50 and 60
mph expected.
* WHERE...Central and southern Rhode Island, southeast
Massachusetts including Cape Cod and the Islands as well as
coastal Essex county.
* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 1 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down some trees and power
lines. Scattered power outages are possible. Travel could be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive. |
