The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston Donates Surgical Masks to Barnstable County

(June 29, 2020) – In the spirit of humanitarian assistance, the Director-General Douglas Hsu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston, and representing the Taiwan government, presented the generous donation of 15,000 surgical masks this morning to members of the Cape and Islands Legislative Delegation and officials from Barnstable County.

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston serves as the de facto Consulate General of Taiwan in the New England area and has been donating masks to communities across the region during the pandemic.

The surgical masks donated to Barnstable County will be distributed to businesses in need across Cape Cod with a focus on childcare facilities.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Taiwan ramped up its surgical mask production and has been donating medical masks to countries hard-hit, including the United States.
