Restoration efforts continue in Barnstable County

 

  • Global power restoration is estimated at 8 p.m. Saturday, October 19.
  • The BCREPC Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) is in operation.
  • No Regional Emergency Shelter System activation is planned at this time.

 

BARNSTABLE (MA) October 18, 2019 – The Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee (BCREPC) held a conference call at 10 a.m. Thursday. Electric utility Eversource provided an update on its ongoing efforts to restore power to approximately 18,000 people on the Cape. Eversource reported there are 70 line crews and 50 tree crews at work with a prediction of Saturday at 8 p.m. for global restoration.

Please stay away from downed poles and wires that could be energized and extremely dangerous. Report a power outage online or call 800-592-2000 to report downed wires. The BCREPC Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) operated by the Barnstable County All Hazards Incident Management Team operated overnight and plans to remain in operation throughout the day Friday.

No Regional Emergency Shelter System activation is planned at this time.
