9/11 Ceremony in Barnstable Village

Barnstable Village – The traditional ceremony will take place on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Barnstable Fire Station, 3249 Main Street at 9:55 AM.  This will include music by Trinity Christian Academy and reflections by the Barnstable Fire Department and local clergy.  Deputy Chief Rick Pfautz will preside.

This marks the 11th year that St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and the Barnstable Fire Department have partnered to provide this ceremony for the community.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. John L. Cox, Ed.D. CPA. president of Cape Cod Community College.  At 4:00 PM the joint ceremony/service will take begin at the fire station with Barnstable Fire Chief Frank Pulsifer leading the program.  Marc Howard will be the featured soloist.  It will then process 1/4 mile up Main Street to the church.  The procession will be led by Dave Knauer on bagpipes, the Barnstable Police Honor Guard and Cape Cod Cub Scout Pack 54.  Rev.  Dr. Libby Gibson will officiate at the service.  In addition to Dr. John Cox, Barnstable Fire and Police Departments and Pack 54 will participate in the service.

A reception will immediately follow in the Old English gardens at St. Mary’s.
