Who is eligible for an energy assessment?

All business, residential and low income Eversource electric account holders on Cape Cod or Martha’s Vineyard are eligible to receive a free energy assessment.

How is the energy efficiency program funded?

The programs are funded from a small energy conservation charge as well as part of the distribution charge on the first page of your electric bill. These funds are collected by Eversource and then returned to the Compact to administer the energy efficiency program for Barnstable and Dukes Counties.

Do I have to be a customer or a member of Cape Light Compact’s Power Supply program to participate in the energy efficiency programs?

No. As long as you have an active Eversource electric account for a home or business on Cape Cod or Martha’s Vineyard, you are eligible to participate in the Compact’s energy efficiency programs.

Why was I enrolled into Cape Light Compact’s Power Supply?

Through the Town Meeting Voting Process in 1997, voters approved Cape Light Compact as the basic service provider for power supply for all new electric accounts established with Eversource. The Compact sends out a letter welcoming you to our supply and informing you that you have the option to opt out of our service (at no charge) and choose another power supplier. How do I pay my electric bill?

Cape Light Compact does not perform the billing functions for the electric bill and therefore does not collect payments directly for electric bills. To pay your electric bill, please contact Eversource at 1-800-592-2000.
